Happy Winter Solstice

Happy Winter Solstice! To be honest I often struggle a little around this time with tiredness, the short days just make me want to mostly curl up indoors. That's ok though it's what we are designed to do. Just like nature does it's out time to slow down and take some time to rest after a busy year.

What is important is allow yourself the time to stop. Which I understand can be incredibly hard on the run up to Christmas. Where you can though go to bed early, do a lovely slow restorative yoga class, take some time to just sit and do nothing. You body and spirit will thank you for it.

The solstice marks the end of the shortest day and welcomes in the light, the sunshine and longer days, hoorah!

Today is a perfect time for that end of year reflection;

What has gone well?

What have you learnt?

What would you have done differently?

Maybe some stuff has come up for you this year that you are ready to release. Today is a great day to build a fire and burn away what ever it is you are letting go of. I suggest writing it down and throwing it into the fire, it's powerful.

Next what do you want to create? What do you want more of in your life? Or simply what are you celebrating?

Then light a candle to welcome the light in, to set your intention.

Finish off with time in meditation or prayer, what ever feels right for you. You may even like to play a beautiful song that touches your heart or draw a picture.

Honour yourself for all you do and all you are. We are all part of the light and all have the light with in us, we are all one. Never forget that.

Namaste
