What have you been focusing on today?
The sunshine?
All that you are grateful in your life?
Your great strengths?
What is possible?
Or perhaps....
How much work you've got to get through and how impossible that seems?
Lack of money?
Lack of relationship?
Feeling tired?
How you are not enough?
What is impossible?
Our thoughts create our reality; what we choose to focus on determines how we feel, which effects our behaviour and therefore the results we create.
The mind is a powerful thing!
If you're feeling worried, stressed or upset about something today take some time to make a note of the things you are saying to yourself about it. Just write them down as they come into your head. Become an observer of your mind.
Then look at your list. Are your thoughts empowering you? Are they supportive?
If they are not, then take some time to think creatively, what could you say to yourself instead?
You are able to consciously switch your thoughts. Questions really help, here are a few suggestions:
- What can I do to make this situation better?
- Who could I speak to?
- How can I create the money I need?
- How could I be most loving it myself today?
- What can I do to make a difference?
- Where could I take responsibility in this situation?
- What can I acknowledge in myself today?
- What could I do that will make me smile?
- What am I grateful for today?
- Who do I love, and who loves me?
You always have the power to choose what you focus on, and therefore how you feel. Be aware of getting sucked into the downward spiral of a negative mind. Of course when we are upset we need to allow ourselves to feel it to release it, but we can still be as loving to ourselves as possible in the mean time.
