Make every day a great day

Open in new windowAre there some days when you just dread getting up and you would rather just stay in bed all day? Do you find that the days that start off negatively generally stay like that all day? Following are a few tips to start each day off in a great mood so it can continue into the rest of your day and even week.

1. As soon as you wake up do something you love to do! Have think of things that make you smile, that can easily be done when you first open your eyes. It might be kissing your partner, listening to a great song, watching TV for a bit, reading a good book, eating something yummy, going for a run - anything that you just enjoy doing that is nothing to do with your day ahead.

I can hear some of you already say "oh I don't have time for that" - what is more important giving yourself an extra ten minutes in the morning to get into a great mood or having ten minutes extra sleep to rush around in a frenzy, charge off to work and arrive there in a foul mood? Which start to the day would get you more results do you think?

2. While you are having a shower ask your self positive questions. Anthony Robbins recommends various power questions to ask yourself every morning such as "What can I do to make today fantastic?" "What am I happy about today?" and "What can I do today to make a difference?". Instead of grumbling away to yourself whilst getting ready think about what great stuff you can do that day.

3. Allow yourself enough time to get to where you need to be. There is nothing more likely to put you in an even more foul mood than being late and having to rush. If you live in London do you really think having to jam on to the next tube and getting your head bashed by the doors closing is going to be a relaxing way to start the day off? Instead leave yourself an extra 5 minutes or so which will avoid stress on the journey in.

4. Breathe. This might sound like an obvious one but often we don't breathe properly, we breathe shallowly and don't take enough deep slow breathes. If you are feeling stressed at anytime in the day take a few minutes to breathe in slowly, for a count of 5, through your nose filling up your stomach and chest with air then hold for a count of 5 then breathe out for a count of 5. Repeat this 10 times and see how relaxed you feel.

My training with Michael has been a real eye opener for me. He has encouraged me to push through my mental blocks, and paced our sessions to account for my individual needs, particularly with my running.

Gym Circuit for Women at the gym
A full-body workout that won’t take a full day

An Overview

Completing a well-designed gym circuit is a great way to ensure you work every major muscle group in the most efficient manner possible. The key with circuit workouts is movement. To get the full benefits, you need to move from exercise to exercise quickly with minimal rest time in between exercises with some interspersed cardio work.
