Achieve Powerful Meditation in Minutes |
||
| Meditation can be achieved in many ways. One way is to let your mind rest in open awareness. Let’s begin…
When you mediate you don’t have to be focused to achieve the benefits of meditation. You can rest the mind naturally, through total awareness. Some people who practice meditation may ask, “What is she talking about? How am I supposed to rest my mind without focusing on a serene or relaxing image in my mind?” You can rest your mind, by sitting in a bath, letting out a sigh, and just relaxing in an area in your home that a positive, relaxed, calm energy. This time is called your alone time. There is no standing on your feet, no work clothes on your body, just something that’s comfortable. At this point you need to say goodbye to all your worries. Don’t think about work or any responsibilities you need to tackle. And most of all no TV or the computer! This is how you rest yourself in objectless meditation. You need to just let go and relax. You don’t have to stop and block what ever thoughts or emotions that enter your mind, but you don’t have to focus on them or follow them. Let yourself rest, simply allowing whatever to occur. If thoughts and emotions come, let them, be aware of them just don’t follow or focus on them. This is called, “Objectless Shinay Meditation.” Objectless Shinay Meditation doesn’t mean letting you mind wonder without direction or putting your mind in fantasies. There is still some presence. This is called center of awareness. You are not focused on anything in particular, but you’re still aware. You’re aware of what’s happening around you. When you do this you are resting the mind in its natural simplicity, different than focusing on thoughts and emotions. This is kind of like accepting whatever comes your way, such as accepting whatever ocean wave comes to you. Recognising that the ocean remains unchanged even though some waves are large and some are small. The ocean waters are always blue and always in motion. In the same way, this meditation is always clear even when thoughts and emotions pop-up. All the simplicity, clearness, compassion, and calmness are enclosed within that state. This meditation is a way to rest the mind. You don’t have to watch your thoughts or emotions or try to block them. All you need to do is rest in the awareness state. Watching your mind function without any attachments. Some people find this practice easy to do and some find to hard to do. It depends on the person’s personality. The instructions are simple. When perform this meditation its best to be in a sitting position. Having thoughts and emotions passing through your mind is to be expected. The more you practice this meditation the better you will become at relaxing the mind in the center of awareness. The purpose of this meditation is to learn how to relax in a state of full awareness. Don’t get frustrated if you find yourself following your thoughts. The fact that you caught and stopped yourself is a plus. When you first start out focus on doing it for a short period of time. Start out for a minute, then a minute and a half, two minutes, three minutes and so forth. This meditation can help you become free of negative emotions that cause fatigue, anger, and despair.
