Make the most of 2010! |

| Can you believe it’s September already? Before we know it we’ll be sat round the table eating our Christmas dinner!!! During the summer we tend to relax a bit more, go on holidays, time seems to slip by quickly and suddenly we realise it’s not actually that long until the end of the year. It’s so easy then to just delay any plans until the next year as it seems like this year is already up......but we still have 4 months!
It’s a good time now to evaluate how you are getting on with the things you set out to achieve this year. What were those goals you set in January, have you achieved them yet? Are you on track to making those changes? Or have things just seemed to fall by the wayside? If they have slipped a bit the main thing is not to worry!! It’s totally normal to get a bit distracted sometimes and lose momentum towards your goals. The main thing is to remind yourself of what you want to achieve and make a new plan of how you are going to do so. It may have changed a little over the past few months, which is totally normal so you might want to update it as well or even write a whole new goal. Once you have your plan in place ask yourself “what is one thing I can do today to move me towards my goal?”, then DO IT!! This will help you to build up momentum again. Maybe you have achieved them, so then it’s time to CELEBRATE! Make sure you do something to reward yourself for all your efforts and acknowledge that it is your reward. It’s so easy to make great achievements and not actually take the time to congratulate yourself. The next stage is to work out what to do next, it’s always a good idea to be working towards something as it keeps you moving forward and focused on making positive changes. Without a goal life can easily pass you by and dreams can take forever to come into fruition. Life is so short, wouldn’t it be better to make the most of it than one day looking back and thinking “what if”?
