Men’s Spring/summer Fashion 2010

Summer is very nearly here; we can almost smell the sea and feel the sand between our toes! Men’s fashion is fun this summer, lots of colours, funky retro styles and all types of cool shorts to try out. Following is a round up of key items to update your wardrobe with this season:

Nautical Styling:
stripes, oversized cardigans, blazers, shorts, rolled up trousers/ jeans, pictures of anchors and boat shoes.

Colourful skinny jeans: yes....bright colours and pastels, take your pick!

This season’s key jackets are the bomber, baseball and heritage country. Heritage country jackets are the quilted ones you expected to be seen worn on a pheasant shoot!

Carrot fit Jeans: Worn on the hip and loose around the thigh, gently tapering into a skinny fit on the ankle. Carrot fit jeans are set to be the new Skinny Jean this coming season.

Shorts: Tailored shorted are still popular this summer, can be worn with a blazer or more relaxed with an over sized cardi. Denim is hot this season too.

Retro T’s: Have some fun with all the different colours retro t-shirts that are in the shops now.

Shirts: Check and denim shirts are the look of the season.

Shoes: Plimsolls and canvas shoes are your real summer essential and hi tops have made a comeback on the catwalks. Work shoes are slimmer and pointed and the boat shoe completes the nautical look.

Trilby hats: The perfect finishing touch for your festival look!

My training with Michael has been a real eye opener for me. He has encouraged me to push through my mental blocks, and paced our sessions to account for my individual needs, particularly with my running.

Over the past few years with the economic crisis, redundancies, lack of pay rises and so on more and more people are starting to feel it. It’s very easy when you have less, or no, money coming in to focus on the lack of it. To constantly be thinking about all the things you want but can’t afford, what you are missing out on and can’t do. “I can’t afford it” becomes a common phrase and soon it becomes your whole reality. It starts to gnaw at your self-worth and how you feel about your life.
