Happy 2010!

The beginning of the New Year is such an exciting and inspiring time. It’s like a clean slate, you have a whole 12 months ahead of you to create whatever you choose. The past 12 months have been tough for a lot of us with career and financial concerns, it’s likely have caused many of you to evaluate your lives and what is important to you. The great news is that we are coming out of the recession now, so it’s a perfect time to take any learning’s we have made from it and move forward.

You have it in your power to make 2010 a fantastic year and following are my top 6 tips to help you do to just that:

1) Evaluate – Spend some time getting clear about what worked and what didn’t in 2009. What were your successes and what did you learn from the things that might not have been so great. What would you like to continue doing in 2010 and what would you like to stop.

2) Prioritise – What is really important to you? Avoid wasting time doing things you feel like you “should” do. When we feel we should do something we are living by someone else’s values and not what is really important to us. Establish what is one thing you would really love to achieve this year that would have a positive impact on your life. What would make you leap up of bed early each morning excited to begin your day? When we do what we love it just flows naturally and we have an abundance of energy and creativity to make it happen.

3) Plan – Once you know what you really want plan how you are going to get it. Break it down into mini milestone goals so you can monitor your progress along the way and set clear action steps each week.

4) What would you do differently if you were good enough? So many people have the belief “I’m not good enough”, it is a major factor in why we don’t go for what we really want. Consider what you would do if you believed in yourself 100% and then start doing it. It might be scary at first but your confidence will grow along the way.

5) Just be YOU. Human beings spend so much time trying to be things we are not and comparing ourselves to other people. It’s exhausting and damaging to our self acceptance. It’s hard work trying to be someone else! Being truly authentic to yourself is the natural and easy way to be so practise just being you.

6) Every day take time to be still and write down everything you are grateful for in your life. When you are in a state of gratitude it’s impossible to be upset. Actively thinking about what you are grateful for each day will draw more to be thankful for towards you as you are looking out for it!

Thank you so much for your help. I'm very pleased with the dress, which I think is just right. I would never have found a suitable outfit without you and the experience of looking by myself would have been disagreeable, whereas this afternoon was great.

Diabetes has become a more common topic of discussion in health articles and websites than ever before. Recent studies show many more people being diagnosed with adult onset diabetes and that more children today than ever before are also falling victim to this chronic condition. Not only is diabetes a condition which requires your entire lifestyle to change, but it is also a condition which can prove dangerous, even fatal, if not managed properly.
