Top Trends for Women this Autumn

The sales are drawing to an end (sniff!) and the new season’s close are lining the rails. It might feel a little early to be thinking about Autumn trends but it’s a good time to get your key pieces to ensure you have maximum wear of them when the leaves start to change colour. Following are a few of the key trends for the ladies this Autumn....

Sequins

Hoorah, I am leaping for joy that the shops are filled with sequins this season. The most exciting items are the sequin jackets, an instant way to update an evening look. Play them down with just wearing jeans and a T-Shirt underneath....effortlessly cool!

Day dresses and skirt suits

Fashion is very ladylike with nipped in waists with belts, romantic soft palettes and fluid fabrics. The skirt suit is back, with killer heels – pay no attention to those silly rumours of women being banned from wearing heels in the city?! How crazy. It’s just men feeling threatened by feminine power!

Colour

As it has been all year bright colours are still top of the trends, hooray! Look out for yellow, bright royal blue and bright pink. If colour scares you experiment with bright shoes or accessories.

Heritage fabrics

Tweed and plaid are in. Check out softer modern uses for tweed in day dresses and of course the classic Chanel suits.

Leather

There are some gorgeous leather jackets around, really soft and fitted. Check out the biker style and also the 80’s style with belts and soft shoulder pads. Studs are popular too.

There are a couple of different looks going on, Tomboy and Vamp:

Tomboy

Think dishevelled hair, plaid shirts, mini length, leather jackets, new day biker look in leather dresses, denim and S&M chic.

This look is great for straight boyish figures.

Vamp

Think red lips, fierce statement heels, body hugging skirt suits, accentuated shoulders and nipped in waists.

This look is great for curvaceous figures like the hour glass.

Accessories

Really high heels with studs, jewels, drapes and zips

Biker boots

Cuffs – statement bracelets

Thigh high boots

Long leather gloves

Kirby grips

It was nice to have someone to talk to who had a personal interest in me and how I feel, and would like to help me feel happier with my work.

Article

I am sure I am not the only one who finds themselves some days just faffing around, with no real direction, making cups of tea, hopping from one thing to another but never really getting anything done. We all have days like this, it’s natural and sometimes it’s good just to accept it’s one of those days and allow yourself a break. However when it starts to become more like your reality of every day then you will start to realise how very true Edward Young’s quote really is. Time flies by and if you spend most of it putting things off before you know it you will have let all the things you want to achieve in your life pass you by.
