Non-Profit Radio Station Provides Voice To The Under-Represented.

New volunteer-run station focuses on health, well-being and life coaching.

Mainstream media continually fails to provide a voice to certain groups in society today. People who want to get their voice out there constantly fail because they don’t have a real platform that will enable them to do so. However, a new radio station has now been launched with the aim of combating this problem.

Create Radio (http://createradio.net), which launched on the 9th March, is a web-based radio station run entirely by volunteers. The central aim behind the project is that these volunteers and other listeners will be able to present their views, ideas and musical preferences to the world with ease, bypassing the more established media platforms that fail them.

One example of how this will work is by allowing DJs from around the world to broadcast their own unique shows at weekends and in the evenings, providing a perfect zone to express individualism for anyone who is interested.

But the radio station does more than just provide a voice. It is packed full of features that offer a range of tools to develop the life skills of its listeners. Health, fitness, fashion and life coaching are all high on the agenda, with the hosts providing tips and inspiration from within their own specialist fields.

The non-profit operation has already attracted a solid listener base through its diverse range of features. Listeners can tune in and find a constant stream of programs tailored to their needs. Inspiring music is aired throughout the day, and the radio station also features interviews with professionals from a range of industries, including physiotherapists, yoga coaches and relationship experts, all of whom will provide insight and information into their areas of expertise.

What’s more, the best of these interviews will be converted each month into a podcast that can be downloaded, providing another means by which listeners can benefit from what the station has to offer and meaning they will never miss any of the best features.

Create Radio host Michael Staddon said, “It’s about time that people got the means to express themselves properly, and Create Radio will do just that. We also want our listeners to get access to all the tools and information they need to help them to improve their lives and develop in the ways they want to.”

The service is a new project from the people behind Create Yourself, a company specialising in life coaching, image consulting and personal training. The company encourages people who want to make positive changes to their lives, and Create Radio will be carrying on this message.

How much sugar is actually in the snacks we love?

For most of us it's true - we like sweet foods. Some of us have more then others and some of us just like a treat from time to time. I can't actually think of anyone who dislikes sweetened products, be it chocolate, cake or coffee.
