Not long til Spring! |
||
| I can’t believe it’s February already, not long til Spring now, hooray! I love it when all the new clothes come into the stores, every time is like wiping the slate clean and starting all over again. I read an interesting article in Elle last month which said that due to the world’s economic situation Fashion isn’t so much about trends this year but more about the designers making the absolute best of themselves in the areas they already excel at and creating key pieces that last.
It all makes senses, shopping habits will be changing now as people have to think more about the pennies; purchase will be considered more and more lasting pieces will be invested in. The rise of the more easily accessible sample sale over the past couple of years will grow, will anyone actually pay for full price for anything anymore? This got me to thinking about the benefits of the recession, I believe in the theory that everything has balance; in a perceived negative situation there is a hidden benefit if you look hard enough and in a really good situation something not so good could be going on. Being aware of both sides brings you to a state of balance, which according to modern day Philosopher Dr John Demartini is our true state of love and being. So what good could be coming out of what is going on economically in the world? Well perhaps it might slow us all down a bit, many of us live such fast paced lives maybe it will force into relaxing a bit more, a few more nights in, spending quality time with friends over a nice home cooked meal etc. We might need to consider spending time doing more simple things that don’t cost so much, this will require our creativity which might have been locked away for a while and we might spend more time outdoors. It will hopefully make us feel grateful of what we have and appreciate things a bit more. We will have to think before we spend and so anything we do spend money on will be that extra bit special or worthwhile. People in UK might not be traveling so much instead taking some time to explore our own country a bit more, this will in turn help local businesses. According to psychologists and anthropologists there will be more sex this year because it is a way to release tension so with all this uncertainty in the work place and our future we are likely use sex to feel secure or to escape from our worries. Also, people use sex to feel good about themselves, if someone has lost their job or feeling isolated by their partners lack of communication over financial worries then sex is a natural way to bring people together again. Plus with all this extra staying in it’s a free way of enjoying yourself! So as you can see there are lots of benefits to what is going on right now, it’s not about being unrealistic to what is going on and blocking it out but in situations like this it is good to balance it out by seeing both sides. There will be a reason why what is happening right now and perhaps above are just a few of the good things that will come out of it. |
