Reiss Eva £169.00
This would be good for people with cool undertones to their skin. When you actually see it it’s quite a bright shade so good if you have some depth to your colouring or brightness. Great if you have a small bust as the extra folds will add volume and they will also cover up any slight tummy bulges.

Reiss Lina - £175.00
Perfect for people with blonde hair, very light colouring and cool undertones. Great if you have a large bust, wide shoulders and then very small hips, the details on the skirt will balance your proportions out. Avoid if your bum and hips are a problem area as the detail on the skirt and the light fabric will make you look bigger.

Whistles - Modern Cocktail Dress - £195.00
This dress will be so flattering if you have curves and want to show your waist off. It will also help to give you curves if you are fairly straight up and down, so a winner all round! It has a low v and the back which adds to the sexiness. If you have a large bust see if you can find a style like this but with a lower neck line as this one might be too high for you. This dress comes in different colours.

M&S - The Bold Backless Sequin Dress - Designed by Patricia Field - £125.00
This is the ultimate sex kitten dress! It looks far better on that in this picture and it’s backless. It’s way to dark for the model in this picture, you can only get away with this if you have depth to your colouring. Be careful of high neck lines if you have a short neck. (They also have a cat suit in this range... purrr!)

See by Chloé - £320.00 (on mywardrobe.com)
A very easy to wear little black dress. Great if you are worried about your upper arms as the sleeves will cover that.

Nanette Lepore - £265.00 (on mywardrobe.com)
A gorgeous colour for summer’s, that is if you colouring is light, muted and cool. This style dress is really flattering if you have the classic curvy hour glass shape.

Tibi - Maya Beading dress - £295 (on net-a-porter.com)
The beading on this dress is absolutely stunning. Fantastic if you have depth to your colouring, for example dark hair. Best for smaller chests as all that details around the bust and the high next will be too much. Great if you are worried about your hips as the eye is drawn upwards to the details and the skirt is looser fitting to skim over tummy and thighs.

Rachel Gilbert - Rochelle mini dress - £245 (on net-a-porter.com)
Beautiful colour!!! This dress is perfect for those with warm undertones and a smallish bust. The folds down the front will lengthen and slim your body shape as they drawn the eye up and down, plus they will detract from any slight tummy bulge.

Antik Batik - Sigma Debardeur shift - £250 (on net-a-porter.com)
Another stunning sequin dress, if you are going to wear a black dress you might as well wear one that is a bit different and stands out! Again, black dresses are best of you have depth to your colouring. This dress will be good for people with straight figures or a slight curve. For an hour glass or pear shape it will be too much and will probably make you look bigger.

Antik Batik - Erin mini dress - £270 (on net-a-porter.com)
This is my absolute favourite, I want it!!! It has a backless cowl neck. Perfect for people with warm undertones to their skin and hair. As it’s a mini dress it won’t be great if you have large hips or chunky thighs as will make them look bigger by cutting across the widest part.

I always wear plain black, I see people looking great in these fantastic colours and prints but they just look silly on me. Should I just stick to what I know?

The first thing to consider here is why do you always wear black? Is it because it’s “safe” and you are not clear on what other colours will suit you? Or perhaps it’s because its slimming and you think other colours will make you look larger. Maybe you simply have a very classic style so bright colours and details seem like they detract from this.
