This season there is a real eclectic mix of fashion to choose from and have fun with. Following are some of the key trends to look out for…
Punk – Yep it’s back! Think tartan, PVC leggings, animal prints, black leather, patent, over sized jumpers and you get the picture….
New Gothic – The new gothic is grown up and glamorous, sparkly black accessories, shiny satin finishes, black patent, luxurious black fabrics such as silk, satin, lace and chiffon.
70’s Bohemia – wide legged/ flared jeans, bohemian printed tops, furry gillets and large accessories.
Romance meets Rock – Feminine flowing chiffon in neutral colours matched with fitted tuxedo jackets, skinny jeans, leggings and leather.
Bandstand – a new take on military, lots of brass buttons, fringing, rosettes, short or skinny trousers with buttons up the side, think little drummer boy!!
Tailored trousers - Harem pants, wide legged or cropped, turn ups. Avoid turn ups if you have short legs and with harem pants ensure you wear high heels and a fitted top as this look can be tricky to pull off.
Mid Calf Length Skirts – Wear with heels and fitted top, as you are covering up so much on your bottom half it’s good to balance that out with showing a bit of flesh on your top half to avoid looking frumpy.
Maximalist – Layering, mismatching fabrics, styles, colours, over doing accessories basically the opposite to the minimal trend.
Cocktail dresses – lots of fun colours, nipped in at waist, simple designs, satin fabrics.
Boyfriend jeans – much easier and comfortable to wear than skinnies.
Belts and waisted styles continue. Look for embellished belts and ones with unusual details. To be worn around the waist, as opposed to on the hips.
Killer heels – new takes on classic work shoes (mary janes, brogues and lace ups) with platforms and sky high heels.
Sculptured heels – unusual detail on heels, sculpturing and layering.
Flats – For when those heels are too much flats are still huge and there are 100s of pretty ones out there.
Bright colours – still the trend for brights continues, if it is too much for you accessorise this trend so add a splash of colour to your look.
Other colours to look out for are…Mustard, Purple, Royal Blue and Red.
