Before a Create Personal Fitness trainer can start training with you, we will need to find out a little about you. We will ask you to complete a PAR-Q (Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire), this questionnaire asks a few common sense questions about your health and highlights any past injuries which your trainer might need to be aware of. In extreme cases we might need written consent from your doctor before you start.

If you were looking for On-line Personal Training only, please click here.

Your trainer will also ask you to highlight your fitness goals, likes, dislikes – this is to help design the best possible programme for you. Before you start we will also need to know your blood pressure, heart rate, peak flow (amount of air your lungs can pump), height, weight and we can work out your BMI and body fat too if you like. Your trainer will have all the equipment so there’s nothing you need to bring along or have ready.

This meeting is of course free, there won’t be any training going on but a whole lot of discussion about you so make sure you come prepared with as many questions you can think of (even write them down before hand).

Don’t worry if you’re not in shape, you don’t have to be in shape to have a trainer. It’s our job to help you get there in the most enjoyable, positive and rewarding way. You might not have an absolute goal or it may change from time to time, don’t be too worried, this is normal and it happens to everyone.

Before your first training session you will be advised what you need to wear or bring along. Generally comfortable clothing like a tee-shirt, shorts, tights, a tracksuit and trainers are best. It’s important to always wear clean training gear and to maintain a high level of personal hygiene while training.

Session times are generally one hour (unless otherwise arranged in advance). Sessions are based on one to one training however you may wish to train with a partner or friend. If this is the case make sure you enquire about our small group training plans.

Your first workout will be the beginning of a long and positive relationship, the beginning of an ongoing process of heath, fun and fitness. A new team has just begun but don’t be concerned, your trainer will start slow showing you exactly what needs to be done. Of course if you’ve been training before then it won’t be long before you’re up and away.

We have a range of Personal Training programs to meet the needs of anyone wanting to increase their health and fitness. Click here for our monthly plans and purchase information, call us on 0845 257 9977 and speak with a member of the team or complete a web form and we'll contact you shortly.

Feedback

It was nice to have someone to talk to who had a personal interest in me and how I feel, and would like to help me feel happier with my work.

A New Year is a perfect time for a good wardrobe clear out and a refresh of your look. The process of going through and sorting out your clothes can be extremely cathartic and you will always find new outfits lurking in there that you forgot all about.
